Terryland Forest Park (TFP) is Ireland's largest urban forest park and an ecological corridor.
I have helped out a bit with the conservation volunteers group for Terryland Forest Park in my spare time since last September as it is close by and, in my opinion, a highly undervalued park which is often abused by antisocial behaviour. Some of the dumping that occurs there may be due, in part, to the lack of bins in the carpark of the Galway Shopping Centre - and the recent removal of the glass bring containers is not going to help matters.
Although TFP is not ideal for foraging due to exposure to pollution from the road etc, it is nonetheless a rich and peaceful park once you can avoid or don't mind the road noise. Nature wise, it is a biodiverse park with rich plant life. I hope to do up an outline inventory of the common plant species found in the park.
